Season Of Glass LP
Sadness, tenderness, anger, love. It's all laid bare by Yoko Ono on her 1981 album "Season of Glass." Released less than six months after John Lennon's murder, the album deals directly with it in songs such as "I Don't Know Why" and "Goodbye Sadness." "No, No No" starts with four gunshots, an unsettling reference to Lennon's killing. Many people see the album as exploitative, but it's clearly Ono dealing with her grief the only way she knew how.
The cover art is a photo taken by Ono. In it, John Lennon's bloodstained glasses rest next to a half-full glass of water. In the background is New York's Central Park.
I had never heard this record before we got in as stock. In fact, I listed in our etsy store without even listening to it. Later, out of curiosity, I put it on the turntable. It's haunting and at times, hard to listen to. But I can't stop thinking about it.

More Than Vinyl
At Bonanza Records, we're more than vinyl. Sometimes we find something we simply cannot resist - we must bring it home!
This week, that item was a vintage VHS tape - an internal marketing and sales item from Coors Beer, circa 1987.
Titled "Vision '88", the tape outlines Coors' plan of attack for the following year - how they planned on making Coors Light the number one beer in the country. With the handle "The Silver Bullet" and the tag-line "It's the Right Beer Now", they rolled out a series of ads with uber-catchy jingles and shots of young people having fun.
Along with Coors Light, they touch on Herman Joseph, Killians Red, The Original Coors Draft, The Holiday Beer and more!
Interspersed among these now-classic ads is Experts In Their Field - internal people at Coors talking about their marketing plans. These comedically-awkward segments offset the slick advertisements beautifully.
The biggest surprises were at the end of the tape - a series of ads featuring Night Court's Richard Moll and Baywatch's David Hasselhoff!
You too can experience the magic - check out our ebay auction HERE!
